For Investors: Another Reason to Invest in Idaho; Number 2 in Patents
There are a number of reasons to invest in Idaho, and now there is yet another one: Idaho is second in the nation with patents. According to a Forbes May 7 article online, by Melanie Lindner, our state is so ranked for the following reasons:
- Number of patents per capita in 2008: 79.2
- Total number of patents in 2008: 1,207
- Estimated percentage of patents issued to individual inventors: 6%
- Top three patent recipients:
- Micron Technology: 828 patents
- Hewlett-Packard: 123 patents
- Individual inventors: 59 patents
